Sweetheart Earrings

For these festive statement earrings, I cut hearts out of a piece of cork, painted on gold mixative, and sewed tiny crystals around the edge.

Supplies you’ll need:

Cork Coins (30mm)
Gold Mixative
Needle & Thread
Crystal Rondelles 2mm
Gold Druzy Links
Gold Earwire
Glue

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Draw a heart onto the cork coin & cut it out.

Step 2

Cover the heart with the gold mixative and let it dry completely. Flip over and do the same to the other side.

Step 3

Sew the bottom of the druzy Link to the heart.

Step 4

Sew the crystals around the heart.
Tie a knot at the bottom of the piece of thread, pull the needle through from the back of the cork, and slide on a crystal.
Once the crystal is on the thread, pull the needle through from the back of the cork piece again.Next, push the needle back through the hole in the bead. This will make the bead remain in position.
Push the needle back though the cork from the back of the piece, slide on another bead, and repeat the steps. Place a small drop of glue to the beginning & end knot of the thread to secure them.
