I am a longtime wearer of Southwest-style jewelry, so this was right up my alley. I wanted to show a way to use this x-large raven focal, it works perfectly in this lariat-styled necklace. You could use any type of button or focal with a loop on the back for this design.
Cut two 16" pieces of microsuede. Feed the cord criss cross through the loop on the raven focal.
Slide the beads onto an eye pin in the order shown. Create a loop at the top. Slide the bead link onto the cord at the end.
See Tip: Wire Wrap a Bead Link
Fold the cord up and use wire to wrap to secure the cord. Wrap the wire tightly around the cord. I used pliers to hold the leather in place while I wrapped the wire around.
Open the bottom loop and attach your feather, you could also use jump rings to attach the faether to the bead link for more sway. Do this on both cords. Attach your cord ends and clasp when done.
I wanted the second necklace to be really short (choker-style) so I cut a 14" piece of microsuede. I used a head pin to create the flower bead charm. Slide the beads on in the order shown. Attach your cord ends an clasp.
