The large hole size in the Czech glass rondelles is so big it allows you to think outside the box. I knew that I wanted to go with 2 different types of natural materials. One of our 2mm natural leather cords was my first choice, so the other choice I made was our hand dyed Habotai silk ribbon with an unfinished edge. I think sari silk would also be cool. By stringing these 2 materials together through the large holes, I was able to create additional texture and color interest by knotting every so often. The colors from the Vibrant Multi Rondelles combined with the calm Matte Beach Glass Rondelles mix really pop so I felt a funky juxtaposition with the Ohm symbol displayed in the piece.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • 4' silk ribbon with unfinished edge
  • 5' natural leather cord 2mm
  • bronze button
  • bronze Ohm charm
  • 2 strands of large hole multi color rondelle 8x13mm (around 28 beads)
  • 1/2 strand of large hole rondelle 8x12mm in complimentary color (at least 8 beads)
  • adhesive

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Combine the ribbon and leather cord and string on all of the Czech glass large hole rondelles.

Step 2

At one of the ends, string on the Ohm charm and attach the button to be used at the closure with an overhand knot. Only knot the leather with the button, not the ribbon.

Step 3

Add another overhand knot using the leather and silk ribbon about 10mm from the other knot giving the Ohm charm some room to dangle.

Step 4

Move your way down the bracelet placing knots every so often, sometimes every 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 beads. Mix it up!

Step 5

As you get to the end make sure to measure the bracelet. I am constantly wrapping it around my wrist to size it. When you get to the point where the bracelet wraps around, but is tight when you pull the ends to touch, it's time to stop. Pull off any excess beads and finish off your bracelet with an overhand loop knot for popping the button through.

Step 6

All set! Add adhesive to all your knots and you are good to go.
