Tibetan Earring Ideas
by Ali on 03/31/16
About this design:
I love making "simple" earrings out of small, interesting focal pieces.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Tibet Coin Earrings - Make 2 wire wrapped bead charms using Tibetan cathedral coins, TierraCast coiled heishi, and 2 head pins. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |
Step 2: Tibet Double Drop Earrings - Using at least a 2" headpin, string on a 3mm bead and a Tibetan teardrop. Then flip a teardrop around and string onto the head pin finishing with another 3mm bead. Wire wrap the top, making a charm and connect to ear wire. Repeat. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |
Step 3: Tibet Long Drop Earrings - Double over a 12" length of black waxed linen and tie a small overhand loop knot, this is where you will attach to the ear wire. Take both tail ends and string through the top of the Tibet long teardrop. Tie another overhand knot to secure and drop. Now double over a 6" length of black waxed linen and tie a slightly larger overhand loop knot. String on a couple coordinating Czech 4x5mm firepolished rondelles in deep reds onto the string tails. Tie overhand knots to secure. Take the loop from your Czech glass grouping and slip over the loop knot from the drop. Attach the loop from the drop to the ear wire. Repeat. |
Step 4: Tibet Bead Chain Earrings - Decide the order you want your beads to be in and connect them together by making 2 wire wrapped bead links that you connect to each other while wrapping. Make a wire wrapped bead charm connecting to one of the links. Attach top link to the ear wire. Repeat. See Tip: Make a Wire Wrapped Bead Link See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |
Step 5: Tibet Cone Drop Wrapped Earrings - Wrap 2-ply waxed linen around the front of the earwire near the loop for 1". Make a wire wrapped bead link using a 2" head pin and the drop. Attach to the earwire. Repeat. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |
Step 6: Turquoise Post Earrings - I had to make these wire wrapped charms a couple times ... I kept finishing them before connecting to the loop on the post! Make sure to check whatever post you are using to see if it as a open or a closed loop for attaching charms. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |

Granny Nancy says:I love the disc earrings and would like to replicate them for myself. If I like them, I’ll make a set to sell in my shop. but the Tibetan beads sell out so fast, I’ll have to work fast.
Actually I love ALL your earrings.
