Autumn Rainbow Tassel Necklace

Project details:

I started this tassel with the intention of making a pattern out of bands of like-colors wrapping around the tassel. The pacifica finish adds such a soft gold luster to the these Czech colors. I added chain to allow for the tassel to flow as you wear it.

Supplies you’ll need:

16 4" lengths of wire (may change depending on you selected tassel cap)
32 2" lengths of wire (may change depending on you selected tassel cap)
tassel cap (I used an ovoid shape)
1' of small etched cable chain cut into 7 links segments
6 colors
6-7 strands of Czech 2mm druks
1 strand of Czech 3mm druks
2 strands of Czech 2mm firepolished rounds
1 strand of Czech 3mm melons
16 mini ball charms
needle nose, bent nose, and chain nose pliers
wire cutters

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Cut all of your lengths of wire and all of your lengths of chain.

Step 2

Wire wrap a loop one end of all of your 4" lengths of wire. Begin stringing your 4" lengths creating a simple pattern as your go.

Step 3

Lay your 4" strung lengths side by side as you go to ensure their pattern flows smoothly.

Step 4

Attach a wire wrap bead link to each loop of the tassel cap using the 2" length of wire and a 3mm melon. Attach the 7 link segment (approx 1/2") of chain to the bead link. Using your unfinished end, wire wrap your strung 4" length to chain.

Step 5

Wire wrap a bead link to the bottom of the strung 4"(ish) bead link using a 2" length of wire and a melon. Make sure to attach the mini ball charm to the bottom loop of this bead link before finishing off.
