Vintage Angel

About this design:

This simple project is shabby chic! Create any size you like, even a large one would be a sweet tree topper.

What you’ll need: (buy products below)

You will need 18/20 gauge wire any color, faceted 3mm beads and seed beads. A rounding tool helps to create smooth edges.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
1. I drew the shape of the angel I wanted to get the correct size. 2. I started by making figure eights with the wire to create the head and the body. 3. Then I wrapped around where the neck would be twice and started figure eights to create the wings. I went around about 2-3 times, 2 would be enough. 4. Then take the extra and wrap it around the head and up to create the halo. Use your round nose pliers to create the halo. 5. Make a little knot around the neck with the sari and start wrapping. 6. Add beads for the halo last.

I remember my sister and I making these with the long chenille pipe cleaners years ago in Girl Scouts. The Scout leader had wide lace ribbon for us to drape them with. We hung them on the Christmas tree for years until they fell apart. This looks a lot more sturdy than the old ones! LOL!!!
