Sparkling Lights Earrings
by Ali on 11/14/19
About this design:
These earrings can represent all the colors in your blooming garden, rainbows, or classic sparkling Christmas lights on the tree. Crystal is definitely a great option that will give you massive sparkle at a low cost. A couple other options are cubic zirconia and gemstone beads (that's what I chose!). I do recommend mixing the small sizes together, it adds interest and sparkle :) I recommend 2mm-4mm faceted beads in a large variety of colors & shapes. Select your beads from the individual products listed below or choose a multi strand!
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
- round nose pliers and cutters
- 21 gauge wire
- ear wires, I like leverbacks
- 2 head pins
- 2mm, 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm faceted round & rondelles in red, pink, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, purple & clear
- 2 large Czech glass teardrops
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: You want to start by making a wire wrapped loop leaving around an inch of wire on the shorter tail end. Bend the wire wrapped loop down and begin stringing on your colorful beads. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |
Step 2: Loop your strung wire of beads and connect with the wire wrapped loop you made in step 1. Make sure you keep this loop on the inside of the loop of beads. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Bail on a Teardrop See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |
Step 3: Once your connection is secure, create a larger wire wrapped loop on top. You can simply wire wrap a coil or you can wrap your wire back up and partially around your larger top loop. It's just a styling choice. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |
Step 4: Now it's time to wire wrap a teardrop charm to the inside loop. |
