Easy Felt Garland

Making garland has never been so simple. Choose from one of our fun felt mixes to make a 6' long garland perfect for your tree, mantle, or where ever your heart desires. All you need is a mix, needles, string/cord. If you want to go rogue, you could always purchase the round colors individually to create your own mix! Don't forget you can embellish these mixes with our felt focals or even crystal, glass & gemstones ... endless possibilities :)

Supplies you’ll need:

felt mix
felt focals for making it my own
hemp cord or the like
#18 needle - chenille or embroidery

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

This first step is important. Do you want to have a pattern to your garland or have it freestyle? Once you decide, lay it out.

Step 2

String your cord through the #18 needle. Now string the needle through your felt rounds, making sure to have the needle centered in the round.

Step 3

The needle may need some encouragement pulling through on the other side. This is a good that it is a tight squeeze, because when your felt rounds are on the cord, you don't want them sliding all over the place. Simply grab your needle, not the tip, with a pair of pliers and pull through.

Step 4

As you string on each felt round, make sure to pull them down the cord toward the end. When you are done stringing on all the rounds, pull your needle off the cord and tie a 1" loop overhand knot. Measure 6' from this knot and disperse the felt along the length of cord.
*If you are done with your garland, then trim a few inches past the 6' mark and tie another 1" loop overhand knot.
*If you purchased 2 mixes to make a longer garland, don't trim the cord. Pull 6.5' more of cord from the end of your garland and trim. Then re-thread your needle and begin again with stringing on the felt. Finish as described above.
