Ethereal Glow Statement Necklace
by Elaina at Lima on 09/10/20
About this design:
This week I had a lot of fun making this statement necklace- I used a mix of gemstones, Czech glass, and crystals to make the focal pieces, and then I simply attached them together with bead links. I love the mix of shapes (cubes, teardrops, and rondelles) and this color combo- the rose gold teardrops really seem to glow in the sunlight!
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
- African Turquoise Small Faceted Cube
- Sunstone Small Faceted Cube
- Czech Glass Rose Gold Teardrop
- 3mm Crystal Rondelles (gold & lavender)
- Peach Moonstone Faceted Round 4.5mm
- Gold 20 Gauge Wire
- Gold 28 Gauge Wire
- Gold Lobster Clasp
- Gold Jump Rings
- Gold Chain
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Make a bead link with a piece of 20 gauge wire & a Czech glass teardrop. See Tip: Make a Wire Wrapped Bead Link |

Step 2: Wrap a piece of 26 or 28 gauge wire (about 5" long) a few times around the wire between the teardrop and the loop of the bead link. |

Step 3: Slide 3 lavender crystals, 3 gold crystals, 1 turquoise cube, 3 gold crystals, and 3 more lavender crystals onto the wire. |

Step 4: Wrap the end of the wire a few times around the wire between the teardrop and the loop of the bead link. |

Step 5: Repeat step 2, but with a longer piece of wire. Slide 1 moonstone faceted round, 4 sunstone cubes, 1 gold crystal, 1 turquoise cube, 1 gold crystal, 4 sunstone cubes, and 1 more moonstone round onto the wire. |

Step 6: Repeat step 4. |

Step 7: Wrap a small piece of 26 or 28 gauge wire around the two bead links & twist them together a few times. Repeat on the other side. |

Step 8: This is what the finished piece should look like. |
![]() |
Step 9: Repeat steps 1-8 seven more times. Connect each piece together with a turquoise cube bead link. Attach each link directly to each teardrop focal. |

Step 10: Make 4 bead links with the Czech glass teardrops. Using jump rings, attach two links to each end of the necklace. |

Step 11: Attach a 2.5" piece of chain to each end of the necklace. Finish with a jump ring & lobster clasp. |

KBplus2 says:Hello I made this it’s came out pretty good how ever It was not easy. This is my first time doing something like this my wire got all marred up and dented and some of the coating came off. I wish Lima Beads had a official facebook group where we could ask question and post techniques and folks could do tutorials.
