Free Spirit Necklace Set
by Elaina W on 10/01/20
About this design:
For this set, I paired these new Czech glass metallic beads with pearls, labradorite, and some antique gold nuggets-which are a great way to add some texture. I also love this color combo & the soothing, relaxed vibe it gives off.
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
Czech glass round 4mm beads, gold 11/0 or 8/0 seed beads (see below for the colors I used), white rice freshwater pearls, beading wire, brass 4mm jump rings, gold ball headpin, brass feather charm, earwires, labradorite faceted round 4mm beads, lobster clasps, brass bezel charm w/ crystal, brass hoop, 24 gauge brass wire, brass crimp tubes, brass nugget drops.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Using a piece of wire, make a bead link by sliding on 1 seed bead, 3 gold nuggets, 4 seed beads, 3 more nuggets, and end with 1 seed bead. Using a 4mm jump ring, attach the hoop to the middle of the link-around the seed beads. See Tip: Make a Wire Wrapped Bead Link |

Step 2: Attach two 9" pieces of beading wire to the bead link by sliding the ends of the wire through the loop of the link, and securing with a crimp tube. See Tip: Crimping Basics |

Step 3: Use jump rings to attach the charms to the hoop. For the pearl charm, I started by making a bead charm with a rice pearl & a ball headpin. Next, make a bead link (attached directly to the charm) with a seed bead, a pearl, and another seed bead. Repeat again, attaching the second link directly to the one before it. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |

Step 4: Slide the beads onto the wire from step 2 in the order shown in the picture. Make loops at the ends & secure with crimp tubes. Repeat on the other side of the necklace. Finish by attaching a jump ring & lobster clasp to the ends. |

Step 5: The bracelet is a wrap style. I made mine long enough to wrap around my wrist 3 times, so I used a 20" piece of beading wire. Make a loop at one end and secure with a crimp tube. Slide the beads on in the order shown in the picture. Make another loop when you get to the end & secure with a crimp. Finish by attaching a lobster clasp, jump ring, and the charm. |

Step 6: For the earrings, start by making a bead charm with a rice pearl & a headpin. Next, make a bead link (attached directly to the charm) with a labradorite bead, a seed bead, and a purple Czech glass bead. Slide onto an earwire. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |

Crystal Canary says:I like how the free spiritedness theme really comes through with the nuggets & feather charm. Nice use of the hoop in creating the focal.

Maggies Mom says:You’ve combined many elements into a cohesive whole so beautifully. It’s interesting how certain elements pop depending on which background they’re against. Love the nuggets and focal, too.

kye says:This is such a pretty set. I’ve been trying to work with labradorite and I’m finding it quite the challenge. Using pearls and warm tones really makes an outstanding look.

C Petruccy says:I love this design as well. Do you know what type/size pearls (or maybe they are the czech glass metallic beads) are used in this design? Also, what size of the rice beads are used? I do not see them under the supply list. Thanks
