Golden Hour Necklace Set
by Elaina at Lima on 10/22/20
About this design:
Inspired by the rich colors of autumn, I used tiger eye, green aventurine, carnelian, and gold accents to capture a fall color palette. I love how the chain & leather look layered together, but each necklace would look great on their own as well!
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
Chinese knotting cord, gold chain, African brass rice beads, gold rondelles, tiger eye horse eye drop, green aventurine horse ye drop, green aventurine off center donut, carnelian faceted 4mm rounds, tiger eye faceted 4mm rounds, carnelian chips, malachite chips, carnelian link, gold 24 gauge wire, gold headpins, gold 8/0 or 11/0 seed beads, beading wire, crimp tubes, lobster clasps, jump rings, super glue.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: For the first necklace, begin with two 7" pieces of chain. Use a jump ring to attach the carnelian link to the two pieces of chain. Cut the chain about half way up. Make 2 bead links with the carnelian 4mm rounds & attach the links directly to each side of the chain. Finish be attaching a jump ring & lobster clasp to the ends. See Tip: Make a Wire Wrapped Bead Link |

Step 2: For the second necklace, begin with a 17.5-18" piece of beading wire. Make a loop at one end, slide on a crimp tube, clamp down, and slide a crimp cover over the crimp tube. Make 14 bead charms with the headpins & brass tubes. Slide the beads onto the wire in the order shown in the picture. Finish the end they same way you started- make a loop at the end, slide on a crimp tube, clamp down, and slide a crimp cover over the crimp tube. Attach a lobster clasp & jump ring to the loops. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |

Step 3: For the third necklace, begin with a piece of Chinese knotting cord about 22" long. Attach it to the green aventurine donut using a larks head knot. Slide on a brass rice bead & tie a double knot. Slide on another rice bead & then tie another double knot. Pass a 3.5" piece of chain through the donut. Use a jump ring to attach the chain together-so that the lengths are uneven. Make two bead charms with the carnelian chips & headpins. Attach directly to the ends of the chain. To finish, knot the cord to a jump ring & lobster clasp-placing a drop of glue on the knot to secure. See Tip: Tying a Lark's Head Knot |

Beady Little Eyes says:Elaina – I love all 3 necklaces but the simplicity of the third I find very appealing. Of course all 3 are great. (Love the photo on the pumpkin.)

Melody F says:Something missing on necklace #3? With only a 12 inch cord, whose tiny neck will it fit? Or did I misread the instructions? The big photo shows it as the longest necklace.

Elaina at Lima says:Melody F- Sorry, the length should be 22″ not 12″.
