Mood Bead Choker
by Elaina at Lima on 12/10/20
About this design:
When I first saw these new mood beads, I instantly knew that I wanted to make a simple choker with them- inspired by the 90's trend! For this design, I paired the mood bead with Czech glass, seed beads, and gemstones.
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
- Beading Wire
- Mood Bead
- Assorted Seed Beads, Czech Glass, Gemstones
- Chain
- Crimp Tubes
- Crimp Covers
- 3mm Jump Rings
- Lobster Clasp
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Begin with a piece of beading wire about 4" long and two 5" pieces of chain (this is the length of chain I used for a choker-length necklace, If you'd like a longer necklace, you'll need to use more chain). Slide a crimp tube onto one end of the wire. Slide the wire through the bottom link of chain and back down through the crimp tube. Clamp the crimp tube down with pliers. Trim off the excess wire. Place a crimp cover over the tube. Slide the beads onto the wire in the order shown in the picture. I used seed beads, Czech glass, gemstones, and silver beads. See the materials list below for the exact beads I used. See Tip: Crimping Basics See Tip: Using a Crimp Cover |

Step 2: Finish by sliding a crimp tube onto the other end of the wire. Slide the wire through the bottom link of chain and back down through the crimp tube. Clamp the crimp tube down with pliers. Trim off the excess wire. Place a crimp cover over the tube. The length of beading wire I ended up with is approx. 3". Finish by attaching a lobster clasp & jump ring to the ends of the chain. |

Crystal Canary says:Great choker! I like that you used the stainless steel chain which will wear so much nicer than plated. The mood bead makes a nice focal.

Beady Little Eyes says:Great idea using this as a choker. But your moods will be so visible to others! Ha.
I love it and the colors are great.
