Mood Swings Necklace

About this design:

I created this necklace that will match whatever mood I'm in:)This necklace has interchangeable components. I used lobster clasps on the necklace portion so I can change up the style of chain and I used them on the pendant coins so I can easily switch those out too.

What you’ll need: (buy products below)

You will need: • 1-4 gemstone coin pendants • 1/2 strand of a multi gemstone 6mm round • 10lb hemp or waxed cord - I added both into the list below, use your fave • 2 packs of twisted jump rings • 2 small lobster clasps and as many large clasps as you need for coin pendants • crimp tubes and covers • 1 pewter bird bead • 17 patina spacer beads • 1 gold stardust beads • 3 styles of Nunn Design antique gold beads - one of each • 1 CZ teardrop charm • gold eye pins • 1 ft of your fave chain styles - I listed a few below • 1 pack of split jump rings • 1 silver nugget bead Recommended tools: Collapsible Needle

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Take your eye pins and loop one around each coin and wire wrap it around the base of the eye and trim. Do this to as many coins as you want. Open the eye pin loop and attach it to your large lobster clasp. Hang one of the coins in the middle of your cord. Start stringing the beads onto the cord in the order shown.
Step 2:
Attach the small lobster clasps onto the split jump rings, one for each side of the necklace. Slide a crimp tube onto your cord ends. Loop your cord around the split jump ring 3 times, pull tight, then back down through the crimp tube. Crimp the tube closed and place your crimp cover on top and pinch close. I always add a little dot of super glue by the crimp bead for extra durability.

Very cool! The colorful multi-gemstone necklace lends itself well to interchangeable focals. I like the use of the Nunn gold elements in the design too. This is a fantastic idea!

I shopped my “closet” to find things that approximate this design. I went in a more organic direction with ruby zoisite, sponge coral and various stones in different shapes and sizes. I picked out more nuggets than round gemstones and am using antique brass daisy spacers. And I am making my own chain out of 7 mm jump rings.
