Roof + Cradle Bracelet

About this design:

It was so fun learning how the 2-hole roof beads and cradle beads worked together! In this design I feature the 2-hole roof beads with the vertically drilled cradle beads. This is just one of many combinations that are possible! I'm excited to keep experimenting with these new beads.

What you’ll need: (buy products below)

WildFire 0.006" or similar Beading Thread Beading Needle 2 Wire Protectors 2 6mm Jump Rings 1 Clasp 2 Tubes of 2-hole Roof Beads 1 Tube of Vertical 2-hole Cradle Beads 11/0 Seed Beads 3mm Fire Polished Rounds (FP)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Cut about a meter of your beading thread and string onto your needle. Take your needle and pass through the bottom hole of the roof bead. Leave a 4" tail. Pick up one 11/0 seed bead, one 3mm FP round and one 11/0 seed bead. Exit through the top hole of the roof bead.
Step 2:
Pick up one 3mm FP round and one roof bead. Repeat until design measures approximately 6 inches. End on a roof bead. Pick up one 11/0 seed bead, one 3mm FP round and one 11/0 seed bead. Exit through the bottom hole of the roof bead. Changing directions of your work.
Step 3:
Working in the opposite direction, add cradle beads in between each roof bead.
Step 4:
Exit the bottom 11/0 seed bead.

(In the picture the thread going across the work is the tail from Step 1)
Step 5:
Pick up three 11/0 seed beads. Remove your needle. Pass your thread through the wire protector and out the other side of the wire protector. Put thread back on needle. Pick up four 11/0 seed beads and one roof bead. Pass thread through the bottom hole of the next cradle bead.
  Step 6:
Continue adding roof beads in between each cradle bead.
Step 7:
You're now on the far right side of your work. Exit the last roof bead added, pick up four 11/0 seed beads. Remove your needle. Pass your thread through the wire protector and out the other side of the wire protector. Put thread back on needle. Pick up three 11/0 seed beads and enter the bottom 11/0 seed bead of the top row. You're now working right to left. Pass the thread all the way through until you reach the left side. Pass through the three 11/0 seed beads of the top row (skip the wire protector) pass through the bottom three 11/0 seeds beads and pick up one 3mm FP round and one 11/0. Make a loop around the bottom roof bead to secure. Exit the bottom hole of the bottom row roof bead.
Step 8:
Working left to right, add 3mm FP rounds in between each roof bead of the bottom row.
  Step 9:
Weave in thread tails. Add clasp of choice.

These colors remind me of a candy bracelet. Also Haskell would have used these new Tohos. Right out of the 40s. Beautiful.

Beautiful arrangement of colors and shapes; my eyes were drawn to it. Fresh & bright; almost edible! Looks like it would feel pleasant to wear – very textural. Nice!
