Get hooked on these delightful fish. Flaunt these colorful aquatic creatures on necklaces, keychains, and earrings. Combine them for a bag charm. These are crazy easy to make, have fun!
Leather necklace:
I started making these fish just using the wire looped wire at the top as you will see in steps 2-5, but as I was working on these I decided I wanted to use them as bag charms so I added a jump ring at the start for more security when hanging it as a bag charm or even on a necklace. Image 1: Open the jump ring and slide on 2 seed beads. Close the ring. Image 2: Cut 2.75' of wire. Slide the wire through the 2 seed beads. Make sure the seed beads are in the center of the wire.
Image 1: Slide 2 green and 1 pink seed bead onto one wire tail. Bring the opposite wire tail through the seed beads. Pull both wire ends to tighten. Image 2: Slide on 2 green and 2 pink seed beads on. Bring the opposite wire tail through the seed beads. Pull both wire ends to tighten. Image 3: Tightened beads.
Image 1: The wire on the pink bead side, slide on 2 pink beads, a flower bead, and a dark seed bead for the eye. Image 2: Bring the wire back down through the flower bead. Image 3: Pull the wire gently to tighten the flower down to the seed bead wire. Image 4: Slide 3 green beads onto the opposite wire. Image 5: Bring the the opposite wire back though that row of seed beads. Pull to tighten. Image 6: Slide 3 green beads on and 2 seed beads. Image 7: Bring the opposite wire tail through the seed beads. Pull both wire ends to tighten.
Image 1: Slide 3 green beads, a purple beads, and 2 pink beads on. Image 2: Bring the opposite wire tail through the seed beads. Pull both wire ends to tighten. Image 3: Repeat Image 1 & 2 two more times. Image 5: You should have three rows with a purple bead in the middle.
Image 1: Slide on 2 green beads, 1 purple, and 1 pink bead. Bring the opposite wire tail through the seed beads. Pull both wire ends to tighten. Image 2: Slide on 1 green, 1 purple, and 1 pink bead. Bring the opposite wire tail through the seed beads. Pull both wire ends to tighten. Image 4: Repeat Image 3. Image 5: Slide a rose gold bead onto each wire. Image 6: Slide a rose gold bead onto one wire and cross the opposite wire through. Pull to tighten.
Image 1: Slide 5 seed beads onto a wire tail. Image 2: Bring the wire over the 5th bead and down through the beads below it. Bring the wire through the middle bead. Do the same on the oppsite wire tail. Make sure the wire and beads are tightened. Image 3: Bring both wire tails to the back of the fish and twist them together tightly a few times. Trim the wire and flatten the ends down with pliers. Finished!
If you are hanging a fish on some leather cord. Cut the cord to your desired length. Glue on the cord ends and attach an oval jump ring to one cord end and the clasp tp the other. Hang the fish with a twisted jump ring.
