I have been wanting to try to make a wire branch with beads. They have a sparkling winter vibe. This would be a cool larger focal, or adding in some pearls would lend to the winter theme.
I used flat-nose pliers to help twist the wire.
Cut two 32" pieces of wire, one for each earring.
String a melon bead onto the center of the wire. Fold the wire up, then twist the wires together 6-7 times. Twisting the wire consistently tight is important for neatness. Follow the images for each step. For the shorter branches, I folded the wire about 1/4", then twisted, and for the longer branches, I folded the wire at a 1/2". Be careful not to overtwist so you don't break the wire. In the images, I worked in a zig-zag to create my branches.
These images show the middle section of the branch. Continue sliding a bead on the wire, then twisting to form a branch.
These images show the top section of the branch.
To finish, twist both wires together at the top until you get 1.5" in length of twisted wire. Use round-nose pliers to create a loop. Wrap the excess cord around the base of the loop twice and trim. Open the loop on the ear wires.
