Crochet this cute mini spiderweb as a coaster or for hanging spooky charms! This pattern is good for someone with some beginner experience with crochet hooks and terms. Crochet Terms (US terms, not to be confused with UK terms! 🙂) MC - Magic Circle, a simple loop made with the cord, for starting your crochet project in the round. Chain - with a loop on your hook, wrapping the working yarn once over your hook and pulling one new loop through. dc - double crochet stitch sl st - slip stitch tr - Triple Crochet (optional) dtr - double treble crochet
Darning needle, to weave in the starting and finished cord ends.

Begin with a MC. Chain 2 into the MC (considered a ‘standing dc stitch’), and, without pulling the MC closed, crochet 16 dc into the center of the magic circle.
Pull the starting end of the cord until the magic circle closer snugly. Now your standing stitch is right next to the last dc of the row. Use a slip stitch to join your last dc to the second chain of standing stitch.
Chain 2 + 2 (standing dc stitch + 2 chains) Make 1 dc into the top of the next dc from the previous row, then chain 2 stitches. Repeat this pattern of 1 dc into the next stitch from the previous row, then chain 2, until you have completed 16 dc with 16 chain-2 spaces. Create a slip stitch into the 2nd chain of the standing dc stitch at the start of the row.
Begin this row the same way as Row 2, but now chain 3 between each dc. Note: You’ll begin the round with Chain 2 + 3.
Now the spiderweb is growing outwards!
Begin this row the same way as Row 3, but now chain 4 between each DC. Note: You’ll begin the round with Chain 2 + 4.
Note: the crochet chart shown above shows only 4 rows, but you can continue this pattern, building your spiderweb one row at a time. With each additional row, you should be adding one additional chain between every dc. You will always have 16 dc per row, but a growing number of chains between dc’s. Don’t forget to always start each round with ‘Chain 2 + [# of stitches between dc’s].
Cut the cord, leaving approximately 3-4 inches and singe the end to prevent unraveling. Thread this end through a darning needle and weave/sew the end back into the stitches to hide it.
