Make a splash with this delicate crocheted bracelet. Floating iridescent pearls shimmer along with tiny Miyuki Delica seed beads. The adorable mermaid button holds it all together. This bracelet is long enough to be worn as a necklace. This bracelet is 22.5" long, including the clasp.
Cut three and a half arm lengths of cord. Slide the beads onto the cord in a pattern of 2 pearls, a seed bead, a pearl, and another seed bead. Then repeat. 27 pearls total and 16 seed beads. You can add more seed beads inbetween the 2 pearls if you want more shimmer.
Loop the cord around a larger bead twice to use as a stopper so the beads won't slide off the cord. Click the Crochet stitches 101 link and use the Step 1 example for the basic stitch for this bracelet.

Begin with a slip knot and start making chains to form the loop for the bead clasp. Every few chains, check if the crocheted cord can fit snuggly around the bead clasp you want to use. Make two more chains and then fold your cord in two, bringing your crochet hook back up to the first two chains made. Continue making crochet chains into the back bumps of the first two chains until you’ve made a closed loop. Chain as many chains as you wish until you are ready to add beads.
Continue creating basic crochet stitches. This image is from another design, but the same technique. Next, push one other pre-strung beads to the base of the loop on your hook. Crochet the next chain as usual over the bead, such that you trap the bead on the back ‘bump’ of the chain.
Keep going until the cord wraps around your wrist three times or is the right necklace length. Tie on the button with overhand knots. Trim the cord. Burn the ends with a lighter to seal the knots.
