The necklace has a cool, casual style with pops of color, texture, and a little celestial whimsy.
Cut 24" of cord. Slide the cord through the needle eye. String o the beads in the order shown.
Slide the cord through the connector loop on the clasp. Create a barrel knot to finish. To tie a barrel knot, follow the images. Image 1: Lay your left finger on top of the beaded cord. and wrap the short end around your finger twice. Image 2: Slide the loops off your finger and bring the tail down through the loops. Image 3: Pull the tail tight to create the knot. I did another barrel knot again for extra security, but if it feels tight enough, don't bother. Trim off the short tail, leaving a tiny bit, and slightly burn the end to the knot with a lighter. This will seal the knot. Do the same technique to the other end of the necklace. Trim all extra cord tails off but one.
Use the cord tail that is left to tie on the gold star bead to embellish the clasp. Slide the star onto the cord and tie another barrel knot or overhand knots. Burn the knot to seal it.
For the chain necklace, cut an 18" piece of chain. Cut another 1/2" piece of chain. Connect the short chain using a jump ring to the center of the 18" chain. Slide a star bead onto a head pin, create a loop at the top with a looper tool or round-nose pliers. Attach it to the end of the short chain. Attach a little gold star using a jump ring to the middle of the short chain.
See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm
To finish, attach a jump ring to one end and the clasp on the opposite end.
