Looking for a jewelry project that's half eerie, half adorable? This seed bead fringe ghost necklace is the perfect weekend craft! Using classic brick-stitching for the ghost's body and a simple stringing method for the cascading bottom rows, you can create a statement piece that literally moves with you.
The top three listed Miyuki seed beads are for the ghost; the other 11/0 and 8/0 seed beads are for the necklace.
Cut 12' of thread. Use wax to smooth out the thread. Thread the needle. Slide 4 beads onto the thread; push them down until they are about 6" from the end of the cord.
Start another row; now we'll use our thread bridges to weave our beads through.
Now we are going to start the single-brick stitch to finish the ghost's top.
There should be 5 rows of single brick stitch from the top of the eye up.
Now it's time to add the wire protector.
This will be our working tail for the fringe. Do not cut it.
It's time to hide the short thread tail. Remove the needle from the working thread and thread it onto our short tail.
Let's start the fringe. Thread the long tail back onto the needle.
Image 1: Slide on 17 beads and 1 pink 11/0 seed bead. Bring the needle around the 11/0 and up through all 17 beads.
Column 1: 17 beads and 1 11/0 Column 2: 18 beads and 2 11/0's Column 3: 18 beads and 3 11/0's Column 4: 18 beads and 4 11/0's Column 5: 18 beads and 5 11/0's Column 6 (center): 18 beads and 6 11/0's Now repeat Columns 5-1 on the other side.
To finish:
Yay, you made it!
