Bring the magic of the holiday season everywhere you go with this festive Nutcracker Bag Charm. Designed to add a touch of whimsical nostalgia to your favorite everyday accessories, this charm seamlessly attaches to handbags, backpacks, totes, or keys. Inspired by classic holiday folklore, it features crisp, festive details—from his traditional tall hat to his soldier boots—making it the ultimate cold-weather accessory upgrade.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Nutcracker focal
  • antique silver chain
  • antique silver carabiner
  • 6mm jump rings
  • Glass 5x8mm rondelles in ruby red, white opal, or white and pepper red
  • 22 gauge wire
  • Christmas tree lampwork focal
  • spearmint candy bead
  • antique silver snowflake
  • Czech glass stars
  • 8/0 seed beads, white or silver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step

Step 1

For the candy cane, cut 6" of 22-gauge wire. Slide on 15 red, opaque red, and white glass rondelles, leaving a seed bead between every three rondelles. Form the wire into a candy cane shape. Trim the wire so you have enough to curl. Use round-nose pliers to curl the wire ends; make sure it's tight so the beads will not slide.

Step

Step 2

For the nutcracker charm, slide 4 colors of rondelles onto an eye pin. Create a loop at the end using round-nose pliers. Wrap the excess wire around the base of the loop and trim. Attach the rondelle link to 1" of chain using a jump ring.

Step

Step 3

For the Christmas tree, slide a seed bead, then a tree bead, then a star bead onto a head pin. Create a loop at the end using round-nose pliers. Wrap the excess wire around the base of the loop and trim. Cut 1.25" of chain. Attach the tree to the chain with a jump ring.

Step

Step 4

For the spearmint candy and snowflake, slide the candy bead onto an eye pin. Use round-nose pliers to create a loop at the end. Wrap the excess wire around the base of the loop and trim. Attach the snowflake to the candy using a jump ring. Slide an eye pin through a red rondelle bead. Bring the eye pin end up to meet the eye. Wrap the eye pin end around the base of the eye a couple of times. Trim any excess wire.

See Tip: Wire Wrap a Bead Link

Step 5

Attach all the charms to the carabiner with 8mm jump rings.
