Thin Spike Earrings
by Ali on 01/17/19
About this design:
A simple, polished silhouette is created by setting the thin spike focal into a cord end. Turquoise is my favorite color in every shade, so using these was a no brainer. These will match just about everything I own :)
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
2 thin spike focals 2 5mm cord ends 2 earwires
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Mix your epoxy. |
![]() |
Step 2: Using a toothpick or headpin dab your epoxy into the cap. Don't add too much, you don't want it to ooze out! |
![]() |
Step 3: Place your focal into the cap. Twist the focal in the cap to evenly spread the epoxy around. If any epoxy comes out, quickly wipe it away before it dries. |

Step 4: Once your epoxy has set, it's time to hook on your ear wires. You will need to select ear wires that have a larger loop to accommodate sliding through the hole on the cap. A trick I used to make the loop more cooperative (shown in first image) is to use pliers and gently squeeze on the center of the loop. Then bend your loop to the side to slip the wire through the hole in your cap. |
