These Rattan pieces are great for creating simple & quick statement earrings. For my designs, I paired the Rattan with wood resin, thread beads, raffia beads, tassels, gemstones, and acetate.
I used Rattan Focals, wood resin, cork, thread beads, raffia beads, gemstones, tassels, acetate, wire, round nose pliers, and earwires. See below for a full list of materials used.
I used the same technique for all of these styles. Take a piece of wire (a few inches long) and wrap it once around the top of the focal. Twist it a few times to secure (you can see this on the rainbow raffia piece in the picture). Slide on your chosen beads and make a loop at the top with the round nose pliers. Slide on to an earwire.
These styles are similar to step 1. I attached the focals & the earwire the same way- wrap a piece of wire around the top & make a loop with the round nose pliers. Attach the acetate pieces together with jump rings.
For this style, I slid an eye pin onto the top of the raffia piece. Next, slide on your bead of choice & make a loop at the top w/ the round nose pliers. Slide onto an earwire.
For these earrings, I slid a tassel & a couple of seed beads onto 6mm jump rings and attached the jump rings to the bottom of the focal. I also used a jump ring to attach the earwire to the top.
