Día de los Muertos Necklace
by Elaina at Lima on 09/17/20
About this design:
I've been looking forward to designing something with these sugar skulls, so this week I created this Day of the Dead inspired necklace. To create this focal, I used a mix of Czech glass flowers to make a bouquet cluster that sits atop the sugar skull. Lastly, I decorated the chain with tiny bead charms. It's a simple design, but the combination of festive, bright colors really makes this necklace stand out!
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
- Czech Glass Sugar Skull
- Czech Glass Bellflowers (assorted colors)
- Gold Crystal Moonbeam Charm
- Gold Headpins
- Gold 22 Gauge Wire
- Gold Chain
- Gold Lobster Clasp
- Gold Jump Rings
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Make a bead link with a piece of wire & the sugar skull. See Tip: Make a Wire Wrapped Bead Link |
|
Step 2: Make bead charms with the Czech glass bellflowers and the ball headpins. See Tip: Wire Wrap a Charm |

Step 3: Attach a small piece of chain to the top of the sugar skull link. Attach the bead charms to the chain with jump rings. I put 2 charms on each jump ring. |

Step 4: Attach another piece of chain to the bottom of the skull link. Cut the chain in the middle and attach a bead link. Use a jump ring to attach the harm to the bottom of the chain. |
