Electric Cheetah Necklace
by Andrea at Lima on 08/19/21
About this design:
I was walking through the warehouse and the Petrified Wooden Jasper teardrop caught my eye. I love the patterns and earthy tones of this gemstone. I wanted to use it with the bronze & copper hues of the ColorTrends beads. I had an extra gold cheetah charm and added that on. The cheetah charm brought to mind a restaurant I visited this summer called the Electric Cheetah in Grand Rapids, MI. The pops of gold where inspired by the restaurants decor. The etched gold drops add so much texture and contour, I love them!
What you’ll need: (buy products below)
You will need: 1 Wooden Jasper Teardrop, a half strand of African Turquoise Bicones, 3 strands of ColorTrends beads, 1 strand of Czech Glass Textured Rose Petals, 2 African Brass Tubes, Cheetah charm, Chain, Crimp tubes and covers, jump rings, 2 Clasps, chain, and C-lon cord.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Cut the C-Lon cord to your desired length, I cut a 24" piece for my necklace. Give yourself extra to work with if needed. Start stringing the beads on in the order shown. |

Step 2: Feed your cord end up through a crimp tube and soldered jump ring and back down through the tube. You can double loop it for extra security. Use crimp pliers/pliers to crimp the tube tight. |

Step 3: Place your crimp cover over the tube and close it with pliers. |

Step 4: For the shorter chain necklace, measure your chain to your desired length. I made mine a shorter necklace, it is 15" in total length including the link. Spilt your chain into two even pieces. Then create a bead link by sliding on your Turquoise bicones and ColorTrends beads onto your 2.5" piece of wire. Create a loop at the ends and wrap the excess wire around the loop, do this to both side. Use the tip below if you need help. Attach your link with jump rings to the chain.
