Day at the Beach Bag Charm

Step 1

This sizing all depends on your purse size and the distance between the handles. The longest layer, the one with the large focals, is 16" long without the carabiner clasps on the ends.

Step 2

Create a bead charm out of the 20mm mother-of-pearl bead and a 14mm Czech glass round bead. Use pliers or a looper tool to create a loop at the top. Trim any extra wire.

Step 3

Cut 15.5" of the double oval chain, or whatever length fits your purse. Use the jump rings to attach the focals to the chain. Start in the center and work outward.

Step 4

For the second (shorter layer), cut 16" of cord. Image 1: String the beads on in the order shown. Image 2: I cut 2" of curb chain to attach to each end of the cord. Take the cord and feed it through the curb chain. Bring it through and start to knot. I used a barrel knot and then wrapped it around one more time with 2 overhand knots. Cut any extra cord and lightly burn the knots to seal them using a lighter. Do the same to the other end.

Step 5

Slide both chain layers onto the carabiner clasps. Cut 4.5" of the x-large cable chain. Attach the abalone feather using a jump ring or wire-wrap a loop on. Attach the 14mm Czech glass gold round and another wire-wrapped fish. Slide this chain onto one carabiner clasp.
