Sand Dollar Earrings

Beautiful gilded sand dollars hold a fringe of Miyuki spacer beads and Nassa shells. These are the perfect pair for summer.

Supplies you’ll need:

sand dollar focals
jump rings
22-gauge wire
Nassa shells
Miyuki spacers
8/0 seed beads
ear wire

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

For the shorter bead charms, I slide on 5 spacer beads, 1 seed bead, and 5 more spacers. For the center bead charm (the longest), I slide on 9 spacer beads, 1 seed bead, and 9 more spacers.

Step 2

Cut six 4" pieces of wire. Slide a shell onto the wire. Image 1: Bring a 1/2"-3/4" of the wire up the side of the shell to meet the other wire. Image 2: Twist the short wire around the long piece tightly so the coils rest on the shell. Trim any excess wire. Image 3: Slide the beads on in the order listed in Step 1. This image shows the longest bead charm. Use pliers to create a loop at the top. Wrap the wire around once or twice and trim. Repeat all of these steps for each bead charm.
