Wonder Wild Necklace Set

Step 1

First, I cut an 18" piece of leather cord. Cut 36" of Linhasita cord. Tie the end of the Linhasita to the center of the cord with two overhand knots. Wrap the Linhasita around the cord several times to the right until it is a 1/4" wide. Thread the Linhasita onto a needle. Slide on your first turquoise rondelle. Watch the video to see how to tie on the rondelle. Proceed to moving to the right.

Step 2

Once the right side is done, tie on another 36-inch piece of Linhasita cord. Wrap it around the cord until it reaches a 1/4" in width. Slide on the Nepalese focal. Start working on the left side now. Finish the same as we did for the right side.

Step 3

Stitch on the last bead like all the rest. Image 1: Bring the needle through the Linhasita cord gap. Image 2: Once a loop starts to create, slide the needle through the loop and pull tight. You can repeat this again to add an extra knot. Image 3: Trim off the extra cord and use a lighter to burn the end to seal the knot. Glue on the cord ends, use jump rings to attach the clasp.

Step 4

For the elastic necklace, cut 35" of elastic cord. Stretch the cord to get it pliable and easier to knot. String the beads onto the cord in the order shown.

Step 5

Create a surgeon's knot to finish. Image 1: Place the left cord in front of the right cord to create an overhand knot. Image 2: Bring the right cord over in front of the left. Image 3: Bring the right cord around the left twice. Image 4: Use an awl in between the two knots so you can pull really tight. Image 5: Gently pull the knot from all sides until it no longer slips. Image 6: Add a dot of gel-based glue, like hypo-cement (optional). Hide the knot under a brass bead.
