Grounded in earthy elegance, this sophisticated necklace and earring set beautifully pairs deep lapis and warm coral with rustic brass accents.

Supplies you’ll need:

Necklace:

  • Lapis chips
  • 1 strand Lapis tiny tubes
  • Beadalon beading wire
  • Mykonos solid brass spacers
  • Mykonos solid brass ridges barrels
  • gold PVD lobster clasp
  • gold PVD jump rings
  • gold PVD plated 3mm rounds

Earrings:

  • Lapis teardrops
  • Brass ring chain
  • 24 gauge wire
  • gold PVD-plated oval jump rings
  • 2 Nepalese beads
  • ear wire
  • eye pins
  • round-nose pliers & looper tool

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step

Step 1

Cut 26" of strand wire. String the beads on in the order shown.

Step

Step 2

To finish the necklace:

  • Image 1: Bring the strand wire through a crimp tube and up through (a wire protector- optional) and a jump ring, and back down through the crimp tube and a few beads.
  • Image 2 & 3: Use crimping pliers to crimp the tube.
  • Image 4 & 5: Turn the crimp and use the end of the crimp tool to close it.
  • Image 6: Take the jump ring off.
  • Image 7: Slide on a brass bead to cover the crimped tube. You can add a dot of super glue to the brass to make sure it stays in place.
  • Image 8: Attach the jump ring back onto the end.
  • Image 9: Do the same technique to the opposite side and attach the lobster clasp.

Step

Step 3

For the earrings:

  • Image 1: Cut 5" of wire. Slide the bead on 2" from the end of the wire. Pinch both wires at the top of the teardrop.

  • Image 2: Start twisting the short wire around the pinched area tightly. I wrapped mine twice and trimmed off the excess.

  • Image 3: Use round-nose pliers to create a loop. Hold the loop with the pliers and start wrapping the wire around.

  • Image 4: Working your way down, wrap until you get just past the holes. Trim off the wire. If you want to add a dot of super glue to the wire end, you can; mine stayed in place.

You will need to make 6 wire-wrapped teardrops.

Step

Step 4

Trim the chain down so you have two rings. Carefully trim off the peanut-shaped links with wire cutters. You should have a ring, a link, and another ring for your earring.

Step

Step 5

  • Slide the Nepalese bead onto an eye pin and create a loop at the top with your looper tool.
  • Open one of the loops to attach your chain. Close the loop with pliers.
  • Attach the wire-wrapped teardrops to the bottom chain ring using oval jump rings.
  • The middle teardrop hangs from 4 oval jump rings, and the side teardrops hang from one jump ring.
  • Attach the earring to the ear wire loop.
